So as I mentioned in this post - we had a lovely surprise on Christmas morning around 1am: a flood of about 3 inches of standing water. On the 26th, we needed to remove everything from the basement so we could get a team in to remove the carpet. So we set up to start removing everything from the basement.
After approximately 9 hours of hauling all of our belongings into the garage and living room and kitchen and family room, this is what we were left with!
We had gotten most of the stuff out of the basement, but left furniture and exercise equipment for another day! We were EXHAUSTED!
The next day, we had a restoration team come down to the basement and remove nearly all the bookshelves, since they all looked like this :(
Here is how it looked the first day of the restoration process. Carpet is all gone and all of the bad furniture was put on the curb. We had a few dehumidifiers and fans for 3 days!
Yes, you counted right - we only have 2 bookshelves left. And the entertainment unit!
We were lucky enough to have our couch still, so that is an upside! We have finally purchased new carpet, and it should be installed soon! I'm not going to say what color carpet were putting in, but I WILL say that it will look totally different! This is quite the slow process, but once we get the carpet and new bookshelves in, things will start to finally calm down!

Does the color of the new rug embarrass you? lol
Now I really want to know the color!
Haha, it's a SURPRISE! There will be a post on it once it's installed!
Oh no! I would give my right arm to be able to change the colour of my carpet. Lol!
